Kristin believes the best thing to help our families is make sure they have the opportunity to secure good-paying jobs. As our Representative, and with the perspective of a successful business person, she is working to make the state a supporter of entrepreneurs and small businesses instead of a roadblock. In Harrisburg, Kristin is working to cut our highest-in-the-nation corporate income tax, make our regulatory system more fair and predictable, and fighting for an education system that prepares people with the skills employers want.
When Kristin talks about improving education, it's not empty words... it's a fight she has been leading for years. As our Representative, Kristin has worked to provide the opportunity for a great education to all children by supporting record funding for traditional public education, choice initiatives, and technical and vocational education. Prior to serving as State Representative, she worked to safely re-open schools, and give parents a greater say in their kids' education as a local School Board member.
Kristin thinks the best way to help taxpayers is to spend less of their money - and make sure what is spent is done so smartly and efficiently. As Representative, she's helping do that by focusing the state budget on our priorities: education, public safety, job creation, and helping those who truly need it.
Kristin believes that every resident should feel safe in their homes or in our community. As Representative, she is standing with law enforcement, working with residents to partner in fighting crime, and supporting smart policies that punish criminals for the harm they do to our communities - especially criminals who use guns. Kristin is also supporting the fire fighters and EMS workers who give so much of themselves to help us.
Kristin has proven that building consensus gets results. That is how she was able to help force the removal of a Representative accused of repeated sexual harrassment and to pass legislation into law in a divided government. Two of Marcell’s legislative initiatives were inserted into Senate bills that were passed and signed into law. Act 43 of 2023 dealt with educating the public about the dangers of human use of xylazine, which has been on the rise in the Commonwealth. Act 41 of 2023, commonly known as the “Porch Pirate Law” increases criminal penalties from theft of delivered packages from homes or businesses which has impacted almost 2 million Pennsylvanians.
Kristin is deeply committed to helping our local communities be the best they can be. That's why she's working for important grant funding to support needed infrastructure improvements; support environmental initiatives to protect open space and our waterways; and spending the time to meet with local elected officials, community and civic groups, and residents to hear their concerns and develop commonsense solutions.
